County OK’s purchase of church parcel for roadway extension

A “major safety improvement” is moving along in Yulee.  The Board of County Commissioners on Wednesday approved the purchase of a parcel of land from the Yulee Methodist Church, Inc. for $215,931.85. The parcel will be used for the Christian Way extension project.

Heart Failure Management Conference underway at Omni Resort

Rep. Bean emphasizes elections, political outlook

Commissioner Martin battling undisclosed health concerns

The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners will have only four members present in person at meetings for an unforeseeable period of time. Commissioner John Martin currently is battling undisclosed health issues.

Callahan man held on sex offender charges in Georgia

A Callahan man is held without bond in Rome, Georgia on sexual offender charges. Donald Lawrence Nichols, 58, of Callahan, faces felony charges of grooming of a minor for a sexual offense and obscene internet contact with a child.

NCSD earns ‘A’ grade, drops to No. 2 in state

The Nassau County School District is the second-best district in the state, earning another overall ‘A’ grade while placing high in most subjects. The District received 13 A’s and one ‘B’ grade, which was West Nassau High, according to the Florida Department of Education.
