Budget talks set to begin in June

Nassau County has set the date for their first budget talks for the upcoming fiscal year. On June 22, the Board of County Commissioners will join county staff in a workshop to discuss the 2026-27 Fiscal Year budget. The 9 a.m. meeting will be held at the James S. Page Governmental Complex.

Companies power up for hurricane season

With hurricane season beginning June 1, electric companies serving Nassau County are already preparing for the possibility of severe weather through infrastructure upgrades, storm-response exercises and preventative maintenance efforts aimed at limiting outages.

Prosecutors seek death penalty for Callahan man accused in shooting death of two
