Nassau County tentative budget moves forward

The Board of County Commissioners on Monday took the first step in moving forward its budget for the 2026-27 Fiscal Year. The tentative budget and millage rates were outlined Monday at the Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Hornets Drive ready to ride

Transportation around Yulee middle and high school will look a lot different this coming school year.The William Burgess Extension Project is officially complete, and Hornets Drive is set to open in the coming weeks.

Public still can comment on data center fact-finding mission

Nassau County staff is in the process of compiling the data collected during the Nassau County Fact-Finding Committee’s data center workshop series.The draft of the Data Center Definitions, Goals, and Regulatory Oversight Table is still available for the public to review.

NCSO: Callahan man, woman had meth near child

A traffic stop on U.S.1 resulted in the arrest of a Callahan man and woman last week after investigators found methamphetamine within reach of a child inside the vehicle, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.

Nassau County Fire Rescue puts out dangerous vehicle fire

There were no injuries after a Jacksonville Transportation Authority van caught fire on County Road 121 on Friday, according to Nassau County Fire Rescue.First responders arrived at the fire around 4 p.m. Friday near Hilliard.
