The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office said a contractor in Yulee was arrested after allegedly accepting payment for home improvement work that was not completed.

Jack Edwin Harris, 38, was arrested on Monday and charged with organized fraud and engaging in contracting without certification. A release said the victim told investigators they paid Harris $8,700 for materials and work, but the projects were never completed.

The investigation began on Aug. 5 after a victim said they hired Harris in November 2024 to complete home improvement projects.

As detectives continued their investigation, NCSO stated, they learned Harris had reportedly been hired to perform contracting work for other individuals but also failed to complete those projects.

Harris also lacked certifications, the sheriff’s office said. Harris was booked into the Nassau County Jail & Detention Center on a bond exceeding $50,000.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims, the release said.
