Equipment failure leads to Precautionary Boil Water Advisory

JEA customers in the Yulee/Wildlight area of Nassau County were issued a precautionary boil water advisory after an equipment failure at one of JEA’s water plants, according to a JEA spokesperson. 

JEA began the process of testing the water for contaminants Saturday night. The process can take up to 48 hours. 
The precautionary advisory was issued based on Florida Department of Health regulations.  

Under a boil water advisory, you should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or other activities involving consumption. 

JEA customers will be directly notified when the advisory is lifted or if the boil advisory becomes mandatory. The JEA website will also be updated with advisory changes at www.jea.com/Outage_Center/.
