Lady Pirates win, head to Kenny tonight

The Lady Pirates won their quarterfinal match Tuesday and are heading to Bishop Kenny tonight to take on the Lady Crusaders in a Region 1-4A semifinal showdown. The match starts at 7 p.m.

Hornets beat Pirates 21-14 in Monday showdown

After three narrow defeats, the Hornets got a win Monday night. The Yulee High School football team defeated Fernandina Beach 21-14. The two teams squeezed the makeup game between Friday night matchups. Both teams are now 4-4.

Back-to-back district champs

The Lady Pirates are district champs again. The Fernandina Beach High School volleyball team defeated the Lady Hornets 25-14, 25-23, 25-18 in the District 3-4A championship Thursday at Yulee, the same place the Lady Pirates captured the title last season.

Pirates host district golf tournament Monday

Photos courtesy of Pam Bell Photography The Fernandina Beach High School golf teams wrapped up the regular season this week. The Lady Pirates hosted West Nassau Wednesday at the Amelia River Golf Club for their season finale. The 5-8 Lady Pirates beat the Lady Warriors 203-243.

It was an all-Nassau County final Thursday night in Yulee. The Fernandina Beach High School volleyball team (18-5) beat Paxon 25-11, 25-5, 25-15 in the first semifinal match Wednesday in the District 3-4A tournament at Yulee High School.

FBMS Lady Pirates host YMS Lady Hornets

The Fernandina Beach Middle School volleyball team hosted Yulee on Tuesday night. The YMS Lady Hornets prevailed over their hosts in two sets. The FBMS Lady Pirates travel to Yulee Monday. Matches are slated for 5:45 p.m. (junior varsity) and 6:45 p.m. (varsity).

FBMS Pirates 2-0 with shutout over Episcopal

Fernandina Beach Middle School hosted Episcopal Tuesday night in the home opener for the Pirates and walked away with a 28-0 victory. “The boys came in focused and ready to go,” said Raleigh Green, head football coach at FBMS.
