Nassau County approves $41,400 grant for new public track

On Wednesday, the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners approved a $41,400 grant to the city of Fernandina Beach for the construction of a Peck Center Charles Eugene Richo multi-use track. The track will be open to the public and will be 1,100 feet long and eight feet wide.

The Hornets are in the playoffs. The Yulee High School football team, now 8-2 after last week’s 18-0 shutout over the visiting Pedro Menendez Falcons, hosts the Keystone Heights Indians Friday night in the region quarterfi-nal round. Yulee is the second seed behind Bradford County.
