Nassau County announced a few more events lined up for the Bicentennial Celebration — a selfie scavenger hunt, a local author presentation and a partnership with a local Corn Maze. The scavenger hunt will feature photo challenges, quizzes and information about Nassau County’s history.

Opioid Task Force holds first-ever meeting

On Aug. 8, the fresh-faced Nassau County Opioid Task Force hammered out procedural details at its first-ever meeting. The group met in the Commissioner’s Chambers and received an introduction of what to expect as a part of the new advisory committee. The group approved two motions at the meeting.

It supports artists and validates them. It helps to understand other cultures and opens their perspective to other people. It provides a health lift and sense of belonging.
