Arts and Culture Nassau, along with Fernandina Beach Mayor Mike Lednovich and Nassau County Commissioner John Martin, presented proclamations to commemorate Art and Culture Nassau’s 15 years of service to the county and city.
Nassau County has received a state-wide award of merit in the Neighborhood Planning category from the American Planning Association, Florida Chapter for its Timber to Tides Initiative (State Road 200/A1A Corridor Master Plan). This is now the second state-wide award and third overall award the county has received for the initiative.

Wildlight announces plans for new senior living community

Wildlight recently announced that The Fellowship Family and Ambling Property Investments will develop a senior housing community within its mixed-use master planned development in Nassau County.

State drops charges against former FBPD officer

The State Attorney’s Office has opted to drop the charges against a former Fernandina Beach Police Department officer, John Lee Finley, accused in June of this year of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman while she slept.

Cruise ships scheduled for the Port of Fernandina without knowledge by OPHA

While the Ocean Highway and Port Authority said it was not aware of it, representatives of the Port of Fernandina have been working for months to make the port, which sits in the Historic District of Fernandina Beach, a port of call for cruise ships.
