The 2023 Amelia Island Book Festival is pleased to be kicking off the annual festival in February with the Feb. 17 signature Authors in School program. New York Times best-selling and local/regional award-winning authors visit schools across Nassau County.

Temperatures fell 40 to 45 degrees Friday as a cold front drags Northeast Florida into a Christmas freeze unlike any since 1989, the National Weather Service reported. “This [drop] will likely rank in the Top 10 all-time for December,” a Weather Service forecaster said over Twitter.

Residents pack the house with concerns about proposed RV park

Nassau County Planning and Zoning Board packed the house Tuesday evening to hear several hours worth of concerns from the community over plans for a luxury RV campground on Sadler Road.

Woman awaits sentence in accessory to deputy’s murder

A Jacksonville woman has pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact in the murder of Nassau County Sheriff Deputy Josh Moyers. She will be sentenced pending a hearing after the first of the year. According to court records, on Sept. 24, 2021, Deputy Moyers conducted a routine traffic stop.
