PAB denies replat request, recommends sending it to BOA

Whether a new townhome development will be built on the edges of the historic district of the city of Fernandina Beach still remains undecided, as the city’s Planning Advisory Board denied the developer’s request for a replat of the property, referring it to the city’s Board of Adjustment.

Three markets open for last-minute shopping

There are five Saturdays in December, so the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will be open on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, but Dec. 17 will be the final Wildlight Market Place for 2022.

The Fernandina Beach Police Department celebrated the annual Shop with Cops event on Wednesday at the island Walmart, 1385 Amelia Plaza. One hundred fifty elementary school children were gifted $125 each to spend.
