Nassau County Council on Aging's 17th annual Salute to Seniors Gala, held at the Omni Amelia Island Resort on Jan. 21, highlighted the life-enriching programs and services the agency offers our Greatest Generation in Nassau County. More than 300 people attended the fundraiser.

“We are so appreciative to our generous community for the support, participation and enthusiasm for our seniors, an invaluable Nassau County population that continues to increase dramatically each year,” said Janice Ancrum, NCCOA president and CEO. “Today, seniors comprise approximately 30% of our county — that's more than 27,000 seniors, many of whom live at or below the poverty level. With your help, we are able to help them lead happier and healthier lives.”

The event, the first NCCOA gala held in-person since the pandemic, was an unparalleled success for the agency with record-breaking fundraising, both on the night of the event and through sponsorships and tickets. The evening of tributes presented inspirational stories of several local seniors and also featured John Drew as emcee, Aaron Bean as auctioneer, dance music from Bold City Classics Band, live and silent auctions.
