NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AMELIA NATIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT 

The Board of Supervisors of the Amelia National Community Development District (“District”) will hold its special meeting on March 5, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. at 910 South 8th Street, Suite 100, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. A copy of the agenda for the meeting can be obtained from the District Office at 12051 Corporate Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32817 or by phone at 407-723-5900. Additionally, a copy of the agenda, along with any meeting materials available in an electronic format, may be obtained at amelianationalcdd.com. 

The meeting is open to the public and will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of Florida law.  There may be occasions when one or more Board Supervisors or staff members will participate by telephone. The meeting may be continued in progress without additional notice to a time, date, and location stated on the record. Meetings may be canceled from time to time without advertised notice.

All meetings of the Nassau County Canvassing Board (Canvassing Board) are open to the public and will be conducted at the James S. Page Governmental Complex, Supervisor of Elections Canvassing Board Room/Conference Room A, located at 96135 Nassau Place, Yulee, Florida 32097. 

The Canvassing Board will convene at 1:00 p.m. on February 26, 2020 for the public preelection testing of the automatic voting tabulation equipment to be used in the March 17, 2020 PPP Election and to perform any other duties as prescribed by law.  

Sealed Vote by Mail (VbM) ballots received prior to 8:00 a.m. on March 3, 2020 will be available for public inspection from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on March 3, 2020 at the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 96135 Nassau Place, Suite 3, Yulee, Florida.  Afterwards, those VbM ballots will be canvassed, opened and tabulated at the Canvassing Board meeting to convene at 10:00 a.m.; however, the results will not be generated at that time.

The Canvassing Board will convene on March 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. to conduct the post-election audit of the voting system and perform any other duties as prescribed by law.  

If it becomes necessary for the Canvassing Board to reconvene after any noticed Canvassing Board meeting, the time and date will be posted at the Office of the Supervisor of Elections, online at www.VoteNassau.com, and announced at the end of the respective meeting. 

Section 101.68(2)(c)4, Florida Statutes, provides if any elector or candidate present believes that a VbM ballot is illegal due to a defect apparent on the voter’s certificate or the cure affidavit, he or she may, at any time before the ballot is removed from the envelope, file with the canvassing board a protest against the canvass of that ballot, specifying the precinct, the ballot, and the reason he or she believes the ballot to be illegal. A challenge based upon a defect in the voter’s certificate or cure affidavit may not be accepted after the ballot has been removed from the mailing envelope.

In accordance with the Sunshine Law of Florida, all Canvassing Board meetings are open to the public.

Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, provides that if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the board, agency, or commission with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
