Last week, Nassau County commissioners, staff, consultants and members of the public filled the Bean Center at the FSCJ Betty P Cook Nassau Center.On Thursday and Friday, Nassau County held the Winter Strategic Planning Session to discuss plans for the county’s future.

At Monday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board terminated its agreement with the Amelia Island Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. The termination was just one step in creating the new agreement with the CVB — the Tourism Promotion Services contract.

Freezing temperatures and low precipitation hit Florida’s agriculture industry and rural communities harder than normal this year. Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency last week for all 67 counties to help Floridians recover from prolonged cold snaps and drought in January and February.

At Wednesday’s Nassau County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board approved the closing of a purchase of land next to the Yulee Sports Complex. The county approved the purchase in December, of the property at 86067 Pages Dairy Road from Coalition for the Homeless of Nassau County, Inc.

BOCC wants data, meeting with Ingoglia
