The Nassau County Special Olympics Surf Team has begun practicing for their annual competition in Coco Beach Florida each August. The team was formed in 2014 with six athletes participating and has since grown to consist of 21 athletes out of Nassau County.

radKIDS camp offers safety skills, confidence

A summer camp is making sure children are learning safety skills and are empowered to act or speak up in potentially dangerous situations. The national radKIDS camp is an engaging mix of lectures and safety drills, Nassau County Coalition Community Director Caitlin Miller said.

Pennsylvania motorcyclist killed in crash on interstate

A Pennsylvania motorcyclist is dead following a collision on I-95 on Wednesday afternoon, a Florida Highway Patrol report said.The report said the motorcycle and a van with two people onboard were traveling northbound on I-95 near State Road 200 in Nassau County.

This weekend an annual local event that supports veterans will hold its largest event to date. The Cross the Line Paddle for Veterans is set to take place Saturday morning. Bill Cimino, co-director of Cross the Line Foundation, said as of Wednesday 149 people were registered for the event.
