Six-month hurricane season starts June 1

As the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1, forecasters are urging residents not to let predictions of a quieter season lead to complacency.

Nassau County approves Flood Adaptation Plan

Nassau County is taking steps to boost its flood resiliency. The Board of County Commissioners approved two items at its May 20 meeting that staff said will assist the county in just that.

Budget talks set to begin in June

Nassau County has set the date for their first budget talks for the upcoming fiscal year. On June 22, the Board of County Commissioners will join county staff in a workshop to discuss the 2026-27 Fiscal Year budget.  The 9 a.m. meeting will be held at the James S. Page Governmental Complex.

‘Girls lacrosse is thriving’

Lacrosse is fairly new to Nassau County. Youth boys teams were formed less than two decades ago with the formation of Hammerhead Lacrosse.

Data center fact-finding workshops set for June

Board OK’s issuance of $11M bond for CLAM

At Wednesday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting, commissioners OK’d the issuance of up to $11 million in general obligation bonds for the Conservation Land Acquisition Management program.

County seeks input on data centers

The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners approved the formation of a fact-finding committee on Wednesday, that will be focused on gathering information on Data Center Development.
