Constitutional champs: Home school team clinches victory in annual Constitution Bowl

Nassau County’s brightest constitutional scholars faced off Monday night at Wildlight Elementary School as the U.S. Constitution Scholarship Foundation (USCSF) hosted its annual Constitution Bowl, awarding $15,000 in scholarships to 14 participating students.

County responds to DOGE

Nassau County sent its reply to the state’s Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE), and expressed support for the financial efficiency program. The letter, dated April 2, was signed by County Manager Taco Pope.

Sea Turtle Saviors

Two juvenile sea turtles, Siesto and Sorrel, were released back to the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday at Main Beach.

Locals at BOCC concerned about possible townhome development

Report boosts county confidence in budgets

Nassau County seemingly has little to fear when it comes to audits. A partner for Purvis Gray & Company, LLP on Monday said Nassau County leaders and staff are doing a "fantastic job.

Board approves final construction contract for AIPT

County leaders worked through a lengthy agenda Monday after canceling their regular monthly Wednesday meeting. The Board of County Commissioners spent two and a half hours recognizing hardworking professionals, conducting two public hearings and approving several key actions.

County to hold open house for Blackrock Cove Park

Nassau County announced an Open House will be held for the future Blackrock Cove Park on March 27. Attendees will be able to speak with Parks and Recreation staff and hear a conceptual design overview of Blackrock Cove Park.

Extension announces 4-H summer camp schedule, plant clinics

Every summer, 4-H extension agents host several day camps.  The extension office says the camps extend across varying topics and day camps will be offered for all age categories.  The camps generally last three to five days and are held at the extension office.
