On Thursday, Dec. 1, Nassau County 4-H and Emergency Management celebrated the graduation of their fifth Youth Emergency Team (YET) cadre. Far too often in life, youth are expected to follow an adult’s lead, especially in emergency situations.

FWC opposes NOAA’s proposed right whale-related speed restrictions

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Executive Director Eric Sutton announced the agency’s opposition to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s proposed North Atlantic right whale-related boating speed restrictions at the Commission meeting Nov. 29.

Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM) is seeking to renew its permit for its Fernandina Beach plant and Yulee Sludge Management Facility with the Department of Environmental Protection. While the Fernandina Plant has been here since 1939, the Yulee Sludge Management Facility did not open until 1977.
