Top Gun at Fernandina Beach

As I entered the airport gate last week, I realized that I was face to face with the business end of an F/A-18 aircraft parked just inside the fence.  “What the…?”  A close fly-by revealed the harmless nature of this warbird, as it was just the cockpit section sitting on an open bed trailer.

The Nassau County School Board heard ideas for future development as part of its June 8 workshop. Nassau County Superintendent of Schools Kathy Burns presented some of the items the district’s Land Growth Committee has discussed recently.

The Fernandina Beach Youth Football Association is hosting the first of three free football camps this summer. The first camp was held Monday through today at Buccaneer Field. Campers learn football fundamentals, run drills and meet the coaches and volunteers for the season.

NCSB to hold workshop on student discipline

After continuous public comment asking for student discipline to be addressed, the Nassau County School Board is holding a workshop today to discuss the discipline in the classroom. At 1:30 p.m.
