Abby Bean to step down as foundation executive director

The Nassau Education Foundation’s long-time Executive Director Abby Bean has announced that she is transitioning from her position effective Aug. 1, as she wishes to spend more time with her family. She will continue to serve in a volunteer capacity.

BOCC passes mandatory water connection ordinance

The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve a new mandatory water and sewer connection ordinance, a “big step” in the plan to get American Beach connected to county utilities.

Any time a political columnist writes for a newspaper for twenty years is a miracle. One of our favorite miracle workers, Ron Sapp, is a treasured columnist, teacher, city commissioner, and mayor. Sapp graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1965.
