Nassau County Board of Commissioners approved in a 3-2 split the rezoning of approximately 54 acres of land located south of Crawford Road, West of US 301, at the CSX/Norfolk Southern RR Intersection, from Open Rural (OR) to Industrial, Heavy (IH).

NCSB appoints Tambasco to oversight committee

The Nassau County School Board voted unanimously to appoint Fernandina Beach Police Department Interim Chief Jeffrey Tambasco to the Millage Referendum Citizens Oversight Committee. Tambasco will serve as the safety liaison on the committee.

Fatal accident leads to mass delays

A fatal crash on I-95 in Nassau County Monday around 11 a.m. closed the northbound lanes of the interstate, rerouting all traffic and causing mass delays. Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the death of a 91-year-old man from Jacksonville.

An 11-year-old boy is being charged with written threats to kill after allegedly posting a threat to Callahan Middle School on Facebook. Nassau County Sheriff’s deputies took William David Rowell into custody on Aug. 11.
