The changing role of technology for 2024 elections

Thank you to all the Nassau County citizens who participated in the 2022 elections. Our office is grateful to our election workers, who successfully and safely conducted three elections in 2022. Voter turnout for the general election was 63.23%, one of the highest in the northeast Florida area. St.

Operation Keystroke perps plead guilty

Of the 11 men arrested in the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office Operation Keystroke, two have pleaded guilty to reduced charges. Khalil Nether and Jeremy Kinsey have both changed their pleas since originally pleading not guilty.

At the Feb. 6 Fernandina Beach City Commission meeting, the commission chambers were brought to silence by the sudden and seemingly unexpected attempt of one commissioner to fire City Manager Dale Martin.

Lives nourished by hunger champions

The vines of mistaken identity

Creeping, crawling, and climbing slowly among our landscapes and natural areas lie plants of mistaken identities. Growing amongst our plants and trees, we may see vines. Vines grow along the ground or into the canopies of our trees.

What happened to the conversation?

On one of my walks around the neighborhood this weekend, up ahead, I saw a guy approaching, wearing headphones, smiling, and head bouncing with the music. He looked like he was having a great time on his walk. Everyone he passed, he shouted, “Hi!” As he approached me, he shouted, “Hi!
