Mary reminds us that God lifts the humble and humbles the proud

In Luke 1 we learn that “God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.” Gabriel explains to her that she “will conceive and give birth to a son, and [is] to call him Jesus.

You’ve got to love a vehicle whose full model name has so many vowels. If the entire moniker was written in chrome across the trunk, it would be as wide as the taillights. Of course Alfa Romeo kept its design principles intact and simply stated Tonale in a stylish script under the Alfa Romeo logo.

Trading cars and making memories: A new chapter at 70

Seventy is 11 months away. On the first day of the 12 months leading up to my 70th, I spent my birthday in Amsterdam after a river cruise. It was a great place to kick off what I hope will be a year of monthly celebrations. I was surprised by a sparkler candle in my dessert.
