Map That Leads to You circles back to stale

The Map That Leads to You is an August 2025 film that skipped the theater chains to stream online exclusively via Prime Video. The good news: It’s a gorgeous and economical 95 minutes, shot chiefly in Spain and Portugal, under the watchful eyes of longtime Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom.

Aches and pains, like sands through the hourglass

Are you feeling it? I’m feelin’ it, unfortunately. At no time am I reminded more of humans’ mortality than when I get out of bed each morning. I reached the half-century mark quite a few years ago, and rare is the day that I don’t feel the impacts of Father Time.

Isle be there: Events abound around town

Transporting precious cargo in SUVs

Family visits can be fun, especially when the little ones, ages 7, 5 and just about 2, are descending with their parents for a week of adventure. Fortunately, our home has adequate space for a robust kinsfolk visit, but our two-row family vehicle isn’t suitable for seven occupants.

Story & Song is one for the books

To this day, I insist one of the most relaxing and gratifying hobbies is to visit brick-and-mortar bookstores. Call me old-fashioned. Just don’t call me late for coffee. Sure, it’s quicker and sometimes more economical to order books online.

Cruizers control: Amelia revved-up about cars

By Todd Frantz, News-Leader There are a lot of really wonderful things about Fernandina Beach and Nassau County. Beautiful sun-soaked beaches, fantastic dining and drinking establishments, unique shopping venues, an incredible historic downtown and friendly residents top the list.

Truth, transparency more than words

These days, it has become second nature to reiterate the need for journalists to be honest, objective and accurate. As the News-Leader’s new editor, that’s my main mission throughout Nassau County. I want to be as objective here as I was everywhere else.
