I’ve never met a soul who wished for the end of our planet, and I’ll bet you haven’t either. So why aren’t we all driving electric vehicles? The political class currently occupying D.C. and California insist that we should abandon petrol ASAP and plug in for a brighter future.

The immigration conundrum

Three of the biggest issues facing our country today are abortion, inflation and immigration. While perhaps the most contentious because of religious and privacy issues, abortion could be resolved with a legislative compromise on a specific number of weeks.

Our community is blessed with an abundance of opportunities to learn, participate in classes of all kinds and experience world-class performances. Last week, I had the opportunity to sample just a few of the many, many things offered.

This past Feb. 14, Frederick Douglass would have been 205 years old.  On the occasion of his birthday last month, more than 60 people gathered at Story & Song to learn more about Douglass, Black History Month and how white people can talk about race in a way that moves the conversation forward.

One Book One Community 2023

The 2023 One Book, One Community (1B1C) program has officially kicked off. One Book One Community is a partnership between the Nassau County Public Library, Amelia Island Book Festival, The Book Loft and Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library.
