Fernandina Beach resident signs to throw for Howard University

Camilla Clarke, a Fernandina Beach resident and track standout, has committed to compete at Howard University. Clarke is a high school senior at Bolles High School. A signing ceremony was held for Clarke and several other Bolles student-athletes on Wednesday at the school in Jacksonville.

Pirates, Hornets end regular seasons on high-notes

The business end of the season is here as the Yulee Hornets and Fernandina Pirates vie for district crowns.

High School Beach volleyball: Hornets, Pirates, Warriors compete at Main Beach

Last week, the Fernandina Beach, Yulee and West Nassau high school beach volleyball teams converged on Main Beach to compete. The Hornets and Pirates both beat the Warriors in all five matches earning 5-0 team wins. The Hornets prevailed against the Pirates 3-2.

Hornets await district opponent, end regular season with close loss amid 30 mph winds

Facing brutal winds, Yulee flag football lost a defensive struggle 7-6 to the Tocoi Creek Toros on Wednesday night. Despite scoring on their first possession, the Hornets missed the extra point conversion on a sack and led for most of the contest.

Pirates earn All NE Florida and All SSAA Atlantic honors

Florida High School Football released the All Northeast Florida teams and the All SSAA Atlantic Team last week, recognizing several Pirate players' efforts in the 2025-2026 season.

Pirates, Hornets to close out season

Fernandina Beach’s and Yulee High’s baseball teams face a tough final slate of games before both head to districts. The Pirates (18-4) beat Tocoi Creek High 6-5 on Thursday before dropping a tight 4-2 contest to Fleming Island. On Monday, they recovered and beat Ridgeview on the road 6-0.

High School Flag Football: Top-ranked Hornets head into home stretch

The Yulee High School flag football team has developed a taste for winning this season, serving up losses for more opponents than not. On Tuesday, the Lady Hornets got a spoon full of their own medicine.

Yulee breezes past Eagle’s View; Pirates reach 16-3

Close to the homestretch, Fernandina Beach and Yulee baseball teams are rounding out the season with tough contests. On Monday night, Yulee (8-12) took down Eagle’s View 7-1 in a spirited performance at home, complementing an 8-2 win over Hilliard on Friday.
