Former Dania Beach mayor took Fernandina Beach plan to redevelop waterfront

When then Dania Beach Mayor Walter Duke visited Fernandina Beach in 2009, he saw a sign at the Amelia River waterfront announcing the city’s plan for revitalization of the area. That plan inspired his work to revitalize the waterfront in his city.

AISTW records most ever green turtle nests on island

The Amelia Island Sea Turtle Watch, Inc. recorded the 15th green sea turtle nest this season, the most green nests ever recorded on Amelia Island in a single season. Sea Turtle Watch volunteer Micki Marvin and her parents found the nest on their morning walk along the assigned route.
