Micah’s Place hosts Community Care Day

Micah’s Place held their second annual Community Care Day on Saturday at Central Park in Fernandina Beach.  The festival had numerous vendors in attendance, with booths ranging from interactive games, to art sales and health care information.

Crossing the 5K finish line

Cross the Line hosted their annual Veterans Day 5K race in Fernandina Beach on Saturday morning.  Over 100 participants gathered at Central Park in patriotic attire to run at 8 a.m.  Before the race, the event kicked off with a heartfelt tribute at the park’s Veterans Memorial.

Taste of Amelia

The 38th annual Taste of Amelia “Culinary Crawl” hosted by the Fernandina Beach Rotary Club took place in the downtown Fernandina Beach on Saturday.  Over 20 local restaurants participated in the event, which began under a smattering of raindrops at the Palace Saloon Shipyard.

One for the books

The Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library hosted their bi-annual book sale last weekend in the Peck Center’s Gymnasium. There were hundreds of books for sale that were donated by members of the community as well as by the library.

Crossing for a cause 

Cross the Line Foundation is a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit organization started by veterans Bill Cimino and Paul Lore with the purpose of serving veterans in Nassau County and North Florida. Lore and Cimino started the organization after creating a charity paddle event from St.
