City street resurfacing project update

The city’s annual street resurfacing project began March 14 and is expected to take 3-4 weeks to complete. This year’s project will involve the milling and resurfacing of nearly 3.3 miles of city streets.

Twelve distinguished humanists honored in White House ceremony

Recently, President Joseph R. Biden presented the 2021 National Humanities Medals, in conjunction with the National Medals of Arts in an East Room ceremony at the White House. The 12 distinguished medal recipients include writers, historians, educators, and activists.

New tech tracks right whales

Researchers at the University of Georgia Skidaway Institute of Oceanography and the University of South Carolina are working together to protect North Atlantic right whales via the use of underwater robots.

A FITting display of kindness

As a service project, the Nassau Educational Support Personnel Association decided to have a Day of Action by donating to four families in the Families In Transition program through the Nassau County School District.
