Community gathers to discuss walking and biking safety on the island

A crowd of more than 70 local residents and city staff gathered at the Peck Center Monday night to hear Robert Companion, Nassau County deputy manager and engineer, provide an update on Amelia Island trail development and voice concerns about walking and biking safety on the island.

Parking at marina will stay

After reconsideration of a plan for parking in Fernandina Beach, the city commission decided to leave parking at the waterfront alone and not remove any spaces adjacent to the Fernandina Harbor Marina.

Amelia Community Theatre presents David Auburn’s award-winning drama “Proof” on its main stage, with 10 performances through April 29. At the center of this compelling play is a mathematical equation.
