A year and a half ago, we sold our home in Half Moon Bay, Calif., and moved to Fernandina Beach. Our “family car” was a 2013 MINI Coupe, the spunky little two-passenger model produced between 2011 and 2015.

Bountiful harvests and local delights

Fernandina Beach is host to Florida's friendliest farmers market, and it will be open Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine. Their sister market, Wildlight Market Place will also be open in Yulee, near Interstate 95.

Luxurious electric transportation

A good friend of mine is a BMW enthusiast and wants to do what he can to save our planet. He’s also a former 7-Series owner and was intrigued with the German automaker’s i7 luxury electric vehicle offering.

Ain’t that the truth

As a youngster, my parents often told me I had a memory like an elephant. I never forgot a face or a pair of shoes and continue to possess the ability to recount a person’s entire ensemble circa our first meeting.

I still need to help

A few weeks back, Barb Heggenstaller called me to discuss a column about Rob Zettel, whom she and her husband, Bruce, had recently met. Rob, she stated, is involved with helping provide supplies for children and soldiers in Ukraine.

Halloween

You would have to be in a coma not to know that Halloween is around the corner. The very American holiday just seems to get bigger and bigger. Halloween is the first of the holiday trio — Thanksgiving and Christmas follow quickly.

Local homebuilding

Despite high-speed growth in recent years, Nassau County’s homebuilding engine is hardly slowing down, or taking a pit stop. In fact, homebuilding activity in the once-rural county appears to be accelerating, particularly with Wildlight and other Rayonier projects.
