Multitude of car events boost appeal to visitors of concours

The Amelia Concours, formerly the Concours d’Elegance, has been regarded as one of the best car shows in the country over the years.  The prestigious car show features vehicles flown in from around the world. Attendees of this year’s event faced a $180 ticket with discounts for seniors and children.

Right whales see most new calves in 15 years

Members of the Amelia Island Whale Ambassadors teamed up with the Amelia Island Museum of History on Wednesday to bring the public an informative presentation on the North Atlantic right whale calving season.

Guide to The Amelia Concours

If you’ve been paying close attention you’re well aware that our island’s famous Concours d’Elegance has moved from its decades-long Sunday classic car display to Saturday. The show day was moved last year to avoid a Sunday rainstorm and apparently the presenting Hagerty executives liked the result.

Love stands the test of time: Love Legacy Gala a success for history museum

At the corner of Eighth and Centre streets this weekend was a scene straight out of a Fernandina Beach history book — carriage drivers open their doors for people wearing fancy gowns and top hats paired with bowties. They approached a party at the historic Hoyt House.

A Legacy of Love

Hoyt House Bed and Breakfast will be hosting a Valentines Day Gala in collaboration with the Amelia Island Museum of History to raise money for the museum. The event known as the Love Legacy Gala will be from 6:30 p.m to 10 p.m on Feb. 14 in the newly renovated backyard of the bed and breakfast.
