Nassau County celebrated its veterans with the annual Veterans Day parade to honor active and retired military on, Monday, Nov. 11, in downtown Fernandina Beach. Friends and families lined Centre Street to thank the veterans for their service.

Nassau County voters turn out

Nassau County voters came out for the 2024 general election, with more than half casting their ballot early. Nassau County Supervisor of Elections Janet Adkins said 40,271 Nassau County voters voted early, just under 52%.

Beacon Shines Again: Lighthouse operating after restoration

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has announced the beacon in the Amelia Light has officially been restored and is now active as an aid to navigation. Located at the northern end of Amelia Island, the Amelia Island Light is the oldest existing lighthouse in Florida.
