‘Ecstatic’: Joinville named YHS’s first Black valedictorian

Yulee High School graduate Sebastian Joinville is making history has the school’s first ever Black valedictorian. Prom king, soccer star and future orthopedic surgeon, Joinville said he is “ecstatic” to be graduating top of his class.

Memorial Day: A commemoration

New garbage service contract approved

Beginning next year, residents of the city of Fernandina Beach will pay more to have Waste Management pick up garbage less often after the city commission approved, on first reading, a new contract at its May 16 meeting.

The Citizens Against Runaway Development (CARD) filed suit against Nassau County in the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court. The suit seeks to prevent a settlement agreement between Nassau County and Riverstone Properties, LLC, from becoming effective.
