AISC, locals celebrate USA 4-1 first-game win

Late Friday night, around the time Mocama on 8th Street typically closes down, a crowd of locals were gathered for a night of world-class soccer featuring America’s best.The United States Men’s Soccer team did not disappoint, opening World Cup group play with a 4-1 win over Paraguay.

Music store owner launches new album

Local musician Tommy Peacock is set to release his brand-new rock album titled EMERGENCY on June 25. As a long time musician and music store owner in Fernandina Beach, Peacock has been in the industry for many years since starting his career in his home state of California.

National pilgrimage passes through Fernandina

In Fernandina Beach, the Catholic community joined the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, walking from St. Michael’s Catholic Church to the Fernandina Harbor Marina on Monday afternoon. Followers marched with priests, nuns, Knights of Columbus and church members.

City passes new e-bike policy on first reading

Fernandina Beach commissioners unanimously approved a new e-bike policy on first reading, setting speed limits for the vehicles. It’s common to see motorized bicycles zipping by in Fernandina Beach, often by teenagers.
