A 68-year-old Bryceville man has been accused of sexually abusing his dog, according to the Nassau County Sheriffs Office.
James Piner was arrested Thursday on a charge of sexual activities involving animals.
At a press conference Monday afternoon, Sheriff Bill Leeper said the case made him feel sick, and he called Piner a “nasty and demented individual.”
The arrest report said a witness went to the Horseshoe Circle residence to check on Piner because Piner had undergone knee surgery. The witness observed Piner having sex with the dog, the report said.
Another witness said Piner had referred to the dog, a female pitbull, as “his woman” and had previously said he had sex with the dog.
Nassau County Animal Control removed the dog from the home and Leeper said the dog’s condition is improving. Director of Nassau County Animal Services Steve MacKinnon said it doesn’t appear the dog has physical trauma and the county will seek custody of the animal so it can find her a home.
Piner was held on a $15,002 bond.
