A chance encounter with the one and only Sondra Love is tantamount to stumbling upon a vibrantly hued, exceptionally melodic, rare bird. A Sondra sighting leaves onlookers instantly enchanted by her powerful, purposeful, poised presence and undeniable steel magnolia-esque charm.

County requests funds for ‘problem child’ intersection

Nassau County is asking the state of Florida for funds to improve the intersection of SR 200 and CR 107 (Old Nassauville Road), which Commissioner “Hupp” Huppman called “the problem child.
The Ocean Highway and Port Authority was prepared to hire a real estate agency to sell this lot on Escambia Street, but the broker withdrew a listing agreement from consideration by the OHPA Commission. City will work to keep America’s Youth and sports fields properties for community

While legislation from Tallahassee required Fernandina Beach to create a list of lands the city owns that could be used for affordable housing, the city commission made it clear that two of those properties will be used as recreational facilities. Florida Statute 166.

2-time world champ

She did it again. Vivianne Morales is a two-time junior world champion. The 18-year-old from Fernandina Beach took first place in her division at the International Federation of Muaythai Associations 2023 Youth World Championships in Antalya, Turkey. She captured the title last year in Malaysia.

World War II veteran celebrates 99

Around 80 years ago, Dale Stickrath was in the South Pacific, flying 17 hours over water in the bottom of a B-24 bomber on a mission to destroy oil refineries. On Monday he celebrated his 99th birthday.
