I woke up the other day at the end of a delicious nap in my favorite blue chair. I tried to feel guilty as I sat in post-nap befuddlement, but I could not muster a shred of regret at taking this quick break.

Paradise in PJs: Locals roll out of bed for Black Friday Pajama Party

Thousands of locals and visitors of Downtown Fernandina Beach spent the misty Black Friday dressed about as comfortable as can be. The annual Black Friday Pajama Party was held Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Relief Rolls In: SR 200 resurfacing finally underway

The highly anticipated resurfacing of SR 200 project has begun, starting earlier than originally scheduled by the Florida Department of Transportation. FDOT issued a media release stating that resurfacing between O'Neil Scott Road and the Amelia River, Thomas J. Shave Jr. Bridge, commenced Monday.

Port honors Fullwood: Fullwood gets real estate contract signed at last OHPA meeting as commissioner

At his last meeting as a voting Ocean Highway and Port Authority commissioner, Danny Fullwood pushed the commission to approve a contract with a real estate company to list a property for sale, over the previous objections of some commissioners.

Nassau County's Wild Neighbors: Right whale calving season begins

Nassau County holds the North Atlantic right whale near and dear, advocating for them more than almost any other creature in the area. Visitors and locals of the island, during the months of November through April, have a unique opportunity to see a right whale cow with her calf just off the shore.
