At a special meeting on Sept. 5, the Fernandina Beach City Commission endorsed Sarah Campbell as the next city manager. According to a recent release, the commission directed staff to begin negotiating an employment agreement, which will be brought for approval at a later date.
The search for a new city manager was led by executive recruiting firm Colin Baenziger & Associates, which, after an extensive process earlier this year, narrowed the pool to five candidates. "Four of these candidates ultimately traveled to Fernandina Beach for interviews," the release said.
Campbell has dedicated 16 years of service to the Town of Orange Park, where she most recently served as Town Manager. "As a member in good standing with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), Campbell holds herself to a high degree of accountability in commission interactions, community engagement, and personal conduct," the release noted.
