Pirates fall 42-14 in home opener at new stadium; Yulee loses

A banged-up Fernandina Beach Pirates team (1-4) did their best to open a new stadium Friday for Homecoming but fell short to the Clay High Blue Devils’ (4-1) big-play potential.The game began with a flyover, parachute jumpers, and a ceremony with district officials and U.S. Rep.

Lady Pirates race to state fourth year in a row

The Fernandina Beach high school girls and boys cross country teams competed at the FHSAA 2A Region 1 meet in Jacksonville last Friday with the girls team advancing to the state meet in Tallahassee this weekend for the fourth straight year and the boys qualifying one runner, John William Martin.

Pirates progress in districts over Bell in tense scrap

The Fernandina Beach Pirates (6-5) snapped a five-game skid in districts over Bell High School with a commanding 48-21 performance marred by an incident immediately after the game.
