The Sunshine Showdown baseball game will now be played May 2 at 121 Financial Ballpark. Time will be announced at a later date. Any tickets purchased for the March 28 game will be honored for the May 2 game.
Any guests unable to attend because of the date change may request a refund and are encouraged to contact their primary point of purchase. Fans who purchased directly through ticketmaster.com can log into their Ticketmaster account to request a refund through the website. Refunds will be processed in the order they are received and ticket holders should allow 30 business days to receive refund.

Ping pong at rec
The city of Fernandina Beach ping pong recreation schedule includes Thursday evenings from 4:30-7 p.m. and Tuesdays from9 a.m. to noon. Beginning to advanced players are welcome. NSFA scholarships
The Nassau Sport Fishing Association is offering $12,000 in college scholarships, and the deadline to submit an ap-plication is April 23. The NSFA is offering $4,000 scholarships to three Nassau County high school seniors.

This is a renewable two-year scholarship, paying $2,000 the first year and $2,000 the second year for a total of $4,000 per recipient.
Criteria for award: Resident of Nassau County; plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student; financial need; GPA, SAT/ACT scores will be considered; extracurricular activities and community service hours will be considered; and must complete a one- to two-page typed essay in response to the following questions: Why do you plan to attend college? What are your goals for the future? Why do you think you would be a good recipient of this scholarship?
Additional consideration will be given to students who exhibit an interest in marine biology and/or participation with NSFA as members or volunteers at events.
To renew, a recipient must have satisfactory completion of freshman year in college with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and must submit a letter of request along with an official transcript of first years grades and fee slip for upcoming semester to NSFA Scholarship Committee.
Along with the completed application form, applicants must submit two referral letters — one from a high school faculty member and one from an employer, community leader or family friend; a one- to two-page essay; high school transcript; and proof of financial need.
To be considered, all completed applications with all required forms and information included, must be postmarked by April 21 and mailed to Nassau Sport Fishing Association, Attn: NSFA Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 16417, Fernandina Beach, FL 32035.
Recipients and their families will be invited to attend a Nassau Sport Fishing Association monthly social meeting to receive their scholarships pending notification of enrollment in college.
Sailing Club meets
The Amelia Island Sailing Club meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Kraft Athletic Club at Ten Acres, located off Buccaneer Trail. Social hour starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by a potluck dinner, business meeting and guest speaker presentation. Guests are welcome. Boat ownership or sailing skills are not required.
Club activities throughout the year may include day/overnight excursions by water and/or land, sailboat racing and social activities as well as assisting with local conservation and environmental efforts in waters surrounding Amelia Island. Visit www.ameliaislandsailingclub.wildapricot.org.
Play pickleball
Scheduled play at the pickleball courts at Central Park in Fernandina Beach is posted at the courts and online. Attendees should wear court shoes and athletic attire. Loaner paddles and balls are provided.
Schedule for doubles format: Sunday 2-5 p.m.all levels on courts 1-4 and beginners (1.0-2.5) on courts 5-6. Monday 8-10 a.m. women’s play (all levels) on courts 1-4 and beginners (1.0-2.5 men and women) on courts 5-6. Monday 4-7 p.m. advanced competitive play (levels 4.0 and up) on courts 1-6 with challenge court on court 4. Tuesday 8-11 a.m. intermediate play (levels 3.0 and 3.5) on courts 1-6. Wednesday 4-6 p.m. intermediate play (3.0 and 3.5) on courts 1-6. Thursday 8-10 a.m. men’s play (all levels) on courts 1-4 and all levels (men and women) on courts 5-6. Friday 8-11 a.m. intermediate play (3.0 and 3.5) on courts 1-6.
Any days or hours outside of scheduled play are considered open play for singles and doubles. The schedule is posted at the courts along with general rules and descriptions of play.

Boules Club
The Amelia Island Boules Club holds pétanque pickup games on the pétanque courts at the south end of the downtown marina Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. and most afternoons on weekdays.
