Community Newspapers Inc. Regional Publisher Foy Maloy, announced recently that he has named Tracy Dishman as editor of the News-Leader.
Tracy McCormick-Dishman started at the News-Leader last week. She replaces Scott Bryan who was appointed publisher and editor of the Tribune & Georgian.
“I am excited to have Tracy join the News-Leader team and oversee the daily operations of our newsroom. She fully understands our mission and our commitment and dedication to the community,” said Maloy.
Dishman is an accomplished executive leader with a strong portfolio of marketing and business development successes. She has been a communications professional for more than 25 years. She brings a passion for the profession which is evident in her efforts to continuously stay current with the ever-changing technology, trends, and skills needed.
“In my short time at the News-Leader, I have met many wonderful people who work every day to make Nassau County a better place to live,” said Dishman. “Through my leadership, I hope to reflect that spirit and tell stories that matter.”
Dishman recently served as editor of the Peru Tribune in Peru, Indiana, before moving to Florida.
“It is my hope to build on the work of editors past and bring readers new ways to enjoy our content. I am honored and humbled to lead a newspaper as reputable as the News-Leader,” said Dishman.
Dishman is from Muncie, Indiana, and earned her degrees from Ball State University (BFA) and Indiana Wesleyan University (MBA).
