Two county commissioners, Thomas Ford of District 4 and Aaron Bell of District 2, were up for reelection this year. The incumbents faced a bevy of tough matches. Foar From Home veteran A.M. “Hupp” Huppmann challenged Bell, meanwhile Ford was left to defend against former commissioner George Spicer and Alyson McCullough, a newcomer whose lively campaign earned her a strong following among Nassau
County voters.
The winners will take their seat during the first morning meeting of November, which the county manager’s officer indicated would be Wednesday, Nov. 16.
Three out of the five spots on the Nassau County School Board were up for election.
