Just when a mother thinks her work is done, she becomes a grandmother. We celebrate Grandparents Day in September. As we celebrate, it is not the same. Grandparents are young, too, so how can they teach the younger parents how to be parents? If they don’t say that they are grandparents when we look at them, we don’t believe them anyway.

We can remember when our grandparents were our idols. They meant the world to us and whatever they said, went, no matter what it was. They didn’t play. Sure would be nice to have that around today.

Sure wish we could turn back the hands of time instead of fast forward. We would have more love in the world today. There were times when grandparents would report what they saw going wrong in the community to help keep the peace. Now not even grandparents see anything going wrong.

If you are blessed to have grandparents that God has blessed to still be alive, can you take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and spend some quality time with them? They sure will be happy to see you. We know that experience is the best teacher. Well, experience comes from those who have gone through many things, and God continues to keep them here.

Our grandparents want to see, as well as hear, from us. Share their love while they are alive and enjoy their memories after they are gone. What do you know about them? This is grandparent month, spend a little time with them today, because the days are fast approaching when you will say, “I wish that I had spent more time with them.”

Birthday wishes to Betty Veal, Taylor Sanders, Stephanie Way, Kim Rainey, Leon Cribb, India Rainey, Betty Wilson, Michael Rauls, Rio Alderman, Craig Manning, Ryan Alderman, and Lady Renee Bolden.
