Maybelle Kirkland
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, family and friends came from far and near for a baby shower held at the Martin Luther King Center, in the Patricia Thompson auditorium.
Thank God for big sisters. Arlecia Bostic has always told her sisters, that no matter what, she has their backs. Big sister went into action and planned a beautiful baby shower for her younger sister, Curtisa Collins.
With lots of pink in the decorations, accented by silver and black, indicated that a girl is on the way. Her father, Curtis Collins and his wife, Celethia, joined in with setting up, as well as smoked meat by Curtis, who paid the cost as the father.
Big brother Marquez Davison, along with his sweetheart Britany, Delores, and Lenica Holmes came from Atlanta to help and support. Brianna D. displayed lots of love with her balloon decorations. A surprise visit came from Aunt Shanna McFarland from Indiana. Curtisa’s mentor and Godmother to her daughter, Stephanie Garret, traveled from Columns, Ga., counsin A’Reya Geter came from Hammond, La., Aunt Felicia Green, along with Dezhon Hall and Jahada Rasheed, traveled from Daytona. Lashandra Richardson reserved the hall.
Proud mother Carlesa, busy as always doing whatever she can to help, also baby sister Reggina taking pictures and phone calls from her twin sister Reggine, who has been deployed to Romania with the U.S. Army. Reggina’s sweetheart, Chris from Cocoa, Arlecia’s sweetheart, Jeremy Green, along with their son Jonah, and daughters Jalaya and Carley Eldell, and granny Maybelle Kirkland-Brown couldn’t stay away.
To Arlecia, my big sister, I love you very much and appreciate all that you do for me. I couldn’t ask for a better big sister. You are so special to me. I truly love you more than you can imagine.
To God be the glory for all He has done for me through my family, and thanks to my many friends who came with the many gifts they gave. Thank you all. Arlecia, you are the best. Lots of love to you always.
