Passport Awareness Day

Passport Awareness Day
The Fernandina Beach Branch Library is celebrating National Passport Awareness Day and will have extended hours for passport application processing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 19.  Appointments are strongly encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
For adults, the library can process first time applications and renewals for passports if issued more than 15 years ago. For minors age 15 and under, the library can process first time and all renewals. The library can process all applications for those 16-17 years old as well. Resolutions for lost or stolen passports or name changes can be handled at the library, also. Passport cards, as well as passport books are available.
Applicants will need to bring evidence of identification such as a Florida driver’s license, and evidence of citizenship, typically a original or certified copy of a birth certificate.
Photographs can be taken at the library. Passport fees are paid to the U. S. Department of State; the $25 facility fee is for processing the application. The library has all forms available. Visit or for details. Contact 277-7365 or for appointments.  Refreshments provided by Friends of the Fernandina Beach Branch Library.
