Frances “Nana” Christensen died peacefully January 23, 2020 at Community Hospice & Palliative Care’s Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach, Fla. at 77 years of age.
She was born March 3, 1942 in Sharon, N.Y.
She was a long time resident of Yulee, Fla. and worked at Container Corporation of America for 13 years. Before Alzheimer’s disease limited her activity, she was very involved at The Journey Church and loved serving with the food ministry there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Christensen of Yulee. They were married on November 26, 1988.
Frances is survived by her sons, Derek Bellar, (Stacy Kelly, fiancé) and Darryl Bellar (Kara); grandchildren, Matthew Bellar (Colleen), Kristen Bedell (Ryan), Megan Lloyd (Dustin), Catie Harless (Brandon), Abby Buben (Hunter); six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by multiple stepchildren and step-grandchildren, all of whom she always loved as her own.
The family would like to thank Myrna Averitt, who was her caregiver since June of 2017. She selflessly cared for Nana during her final two-and-a-half years. We are forever grateful for the love and compassion she gave every day to ensure Nana’s life was safe and comfortable.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for her birthday on March 3, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at The Journey Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nana’s life.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Authentic Impact, the food ministry of The Journey Church.
