The Pirate netters hosted the Hornets on Tuesday. The Fernandina Beach High School boys and girls tennis teams swept the match.
The Pirates honored their senior grapplers on Feb. 12, and the team celebrated another win after beating Nease.
The Nassau Pride pushed its record to 5-1 with Saturday’s win over St. Augustine, and the American Basketball Association team is currently ranked 18th in its second season in Nassau County.
The Pirates captured the county championship on Feb. 4 in Callahan. The Fernandina Beach High School wrestling team beat host West Nassau 51-28.
Yulee High School’s girls and boys soccer teams won their district semifinal matches last week to advance to this week’s championship matches.
Wednesday was national signing day, and six Yulee and Fernandina Beach High School students penned to play their respective sport on the next level.
The Hornets beat the Pirates 58-55 in overtime Tuesday night in Yulee. The Yulee High School varsity boys basketball team led Fernandina Beach 14-9 after a quarter and 23-17 at halftime.
Fernandina Beach Babe Ruth is registering players through March 10 for the spring season. Divisions include 8-and-under through 15-and-under. Opening day is tentatively slated for March 21.
