Right whale rescued from tangled rope

In an at-sea rescue operation on Friday, Jan. 6, an endangered North Atlantic right whale called "Ruffian" was rescued from a tangle of rope and fishing gear. It was a collaborative effort between the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The rescue took place 20 to 30 miles off the Atlantic coast near the Florida-Georgia state line.
