Jackson MOAA speaker
Rear Adm. Mary M. Jackson, commander, Navy Region Southeast, will address the Nassau County chapter of the Military Officers Association of America at 11:30 a.m. June 14 at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club; a light lunch will be served for $10. To attend, RSVP to Paul Booton at 491-1814 by 5 p.m. June 12. The meeting is open to the public but seating is limited.
Jackson was an instructor at the Naval Academy, flag secretary to Commander Naval Surface Forces, Atlantic and was the first female commanding officer, Naval Station Norfolk, Va., the U.S. Navy’s largest installation on the east coast. Admiral Jackson is currently responsible for all U.S. Navy installations in the Southeast United States and resides at NAS Jacksonville.
