Farmers market Mike and Brenda Cooper of Annie Clyde's Pound Cakes have returned to the Fernandina Farmers Market. Annie Clyde's artisan pound cakes made from scratch honor Brenda's mother, a Georgia native who spent hours teaching Brenda her recipes and techniques for baking a good-looking and, most of all, good tasting cake. Brenda developed miniature versions of those cakes made with fresh and all-natural ingredients and topped with hand-made glazes include Loving Lemon, Shonuff Strawberry, Plezant Pineapple, Chocolate Chocolate, Comely Coconut, Off the Tree Orange and even Sweet Potato Pie. Annie Clyde's will be at the market on Jan. 15 and then the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Also at the market Jan. 15 will be CleanRidge Soap Company, Gabriela's Tamales and Olives, Etc. as well as direct-from-the-farm winter vegetables and greens, including mustard, turnip and collard, salad mixes, arugula, bib and romaine lettuces and more.
